Available for integrations with: Canvas LMS, Schoology LMS, Moodle LMS, Blackboard LMS
As part of the Explain Everything integration with LMSs, Teachers can create “Watch a Video” assignments in their Courses. This way, they can send videos created with Explain Everything to their Students so they can watch it. Students complete the assignment by watching the video. After they watch the video, the information about it will be sent to the Teacher in their Course.

Teacher
As a Teacher, you can prepare assignments using Web Video Links created with Explain Everything. After you send the assignment, Students in your Course will be able to access it and watch the video. After they watch the video, the information about it will be sent to you so you can grade it.

Create the "Watch a Video" assignment and send it to your Students
- Open the Course in which you’d like to create the assignment.
- In the Course Navigation Menu, select Assignments.
- Select the Add Assignment button.
- Scroll down to the Submission type section.
- Select the drop-down menu and choose External tool.
- In the External Tool Options, select Find.
- On the list of external tools added to your Course, find and select Explain Everything.
- Sign in to your Explain Everything account if necessary.
- In the Select assignment type window, in the Watch a Video section, select the Assign Video button.
- Search for the Web Video Link you’d like to assign to your Students in the Course — enter the project’s name or its CODE.
- Once found, choose Select on the project’s video thumbnail.
- In the Configure external tool modal window, choose Select.
- Add all the required and desired details of the assignment.
- Select Save & publish to send the assignment with all the details immediately to your Students. Select Save to send it to them later.
After the Student watches the video, you will be able to grade it with the SpeedGrader.
Tip: Want to preview the video before sending it to your Students? Select View on the Web Video Link thumbnail after finding one — you’ll be taken to Explain Everything where you can preview it. When you’re done, come back to Canvas and follow the instructions above to finish creating the assignment and sending it to your Students.
Tip: Don’t have a Web Video Link? Select + Create New Project after choosing the assignment type — you’ll be taken to Explain Everything where you can create one. When you’re done, come back to Canvas and search for the Web Video Link you’ve just created once again. Then, follow the instructions above to finish creating the assignment and sending it to your Students.
- Open the Course in which you’d like to create the assignment.
- In the Navigation Panel on the left side of the Course page, select Materials.
- In the Center Column, at the top of the Course Materials page, select Add Materials.
- From the drop-down menu, choose Add File/Link/External Tool.
- Select External Tool.
- In the Add External Tool modal window, select the Tool Provider drop-down and choose Explain Everything.
- Enter the Assignment's Title.
- Tick the Enable Grading box.
- Select the Category drop-down — choose or create a new grading category. Enter its name in the field below.
- When you're ready, select Submit.
- In the Center Column of the Course Materials page, search for the assignment you've just created and select it.
- Sign in to your Explain Everything account if necessary.
- In the Select assignment type window, in the Watch a Video section, select the Assign Video button.
- Search for the Web Video Link you’d like to assign to your Students in the Course — enter the project’s name or its CODE.
- Once found, choose Select on the project’s thumbnail.
You can grade your Student’s assignment after they watch the video. You can do it directly under the created assignment on the Materials page of the given Course, or in the Gradebook — you can find it in the Navigation Panel of the given Course.
Tip: Want to preview the video before sending it to your Students? Select View on the Web Video Link thumbnail after finding one — you’ll be taken to Explain Everything where you can preview it. When you’re done, come back to Schoology and follow the instructions above to finish creating the assignment and sending it to your Students.

- Open the Course in which you'd like to create the assignment.
- Select the desired Course section.
- In the upper right-hand corner of the screen, right below the Gear menu, select the Turn editing on button to enable editing so you can create the assignment.
- Select + Add an activity or resource to the left of the selected Course section.
- Find Explain Everything on the list, or use the search bar to find it.
- Once found, select it.
- In the Adding a new External tool window, in the General section, enter the name of your assignment in the Activity name field.
- Reload the page and select the Activity you've just created from the Course section view.
- Sign in to your Explain Everything account if necessary.
- In the Select assignment type window, in the Watch a Video section, select the Assign Video button.
- Search for the project you'd like to assign to your Students in the Course — enter the project's name or its CODE in the search bar.
- Once found, choose Select on the project's thumbnail — the “Watch a Video” assignment will be created and your Students will be able to access and complete it.
You can grade your Student’s assignment after they submit it. You can do it directly under the created assignment in the given Course section, or in Grades — you can find it in the Navigation drawer of the given Course.

- Open the Course in which you'd like to create the assignment.
- In the upper right-hand corner of the screen, right below the top navigation bar, make sure that the Edit Mode is ON.
- From the navigation bar on the left side of the desired Course, select Content. Make sure you have a Learning Module created so you can create the Explain Everything assignment.
- From the top of the Content window, select the Build Content tab.
- From the dropdown menu, select Explain Everything.
- In the Information section, in the Name field, enter the name of your assignment.
- In the Grading section, next to the Enable Evaluation feature, select Yes.
- In the Points Possible field, enter the desired number of points you'd like to give to your Students for completing this assignment.
- When you're done, select the Submit button.
- On the list, find the assignment you've just created, and select it.
- Sign in to your Explain Everything account if necessary.
- In the Select assignment type window, in the Watch a Video section, select the Assign Video button.
- Select or search for the project you'd like to assign to your Students in the Course — enter the project's name or its CODE in the search bar.
- Once found, choose Select on the project's thumbnail — the “Watch a Video” assignment will be created and your Students will be able to access and complete it.
You can grade your Student’s assignment after they submit it. You can do it directly under the created assignment in the given Course, or in the Grade Center.

Student
As a Student, you can access the “Watch a Video” assignment created by the Teacher in your Course and watch the video to complete the assignment. After you watch the video, the information about it will be sent to your Teacher so they can grade it.
Watch the video to complete the assignment
- Open the Course in which you’d like to complete the assignment.
- In the Course Navigation Menu, select Assignments.
- Search for the assignment you wish to watch on the list and select it.
- Sign in to your Explain Everything account if necessary.
- Select the play icon on the video and watch it to complete the assignment. After you watch the video, you'll get information that your assignment has been submitted to the Teacher of your Course.
After watching the video, your Teacher can grade your assignment. You can see your grades in Grades in the Course Navigation Menu.
- Open the Course in which you’d like to complete the assignment.

- Sign in to your Explain Everything account if necessary.
- Select the play icon on the video assigned to you and watch it to complete the assignment. After you watch the video, you’ll get information that your assignment has been submitted to the Teacher in your Course.
After you watch the video, your Teacher will be able to grade your assignment. You can see your grades in Grades in the Navigation drawer of the given Course.

- On the list, search for the assignment you'd like to complete and select it.
- Sign in to your Explain Everything account if necessary.
