You can integrate Explain Everything and Schoology LMS. This way, your organization or course will have instant access to features that come with the integration — the ability to create “Project Activity”, “Watch a Video”, and “Record a Video” assignments.
Note: In order to access features enabled by the integration, you'll need a paid Explain Everything account.
Integration features available in Schoology LMS
Explain Everything and Schoology integration comes with the following features. One configuration enables all of them at once.
Add Explain Everything to Schoology LMS
Depending on your Schoology role, you can add the integration either to the whole account or a specific course.
- Admin: Add Explain Everything integration for an account
- Instructor: Add Explain Everything integration to a course
Admin: Add Explain Everything integration for an account
As an Admin, you can add the Explain Everything integration to all existing and newly created Courses in your account. This way, Instructors and Students will have access to features that come with the integration.
Before you start
- Have your Integration Keys handy for copy-pasting as you'll need them during the process.
- Make sure your user role allows adding external apps. If you don't see the option of adding an app, it means your System Administrator may have disabled this permission.
- Log in to your Admin account in Schoology.
- From the top navigation bar, select Tools.
- From the dropdown menu, select School Management.
- From the side menu of the System Settings, select Integration.
- Select the External Tools tab.
- On the list, find and select Add External Tool Provider.
- In the Tool Name field, enter
Explain Everything
. - In the Consumer Key field, enter your Explain Everything Customer Key.
- In the Shared Secret field, enter your Explain Everything Shared Secret.
- In the Configuration Type - URL/XML
- In the Configuration URL/XML field, copy and paste the following URL:
https://drive.explaineverything.com/frontservices/integration-lti/lti-provider.xml
. - Once you're done, select the Submit button.
Instructor: Add Explain Everything integration to a course
As an Instructor, you can add Explain Everything integration to your Courses. This way, you and your Students will have access to features that come with the integration.
Before you start

- Open the Course in which you’d like to create an assignment.
- In the Navigation Panel, below the Course profile photo, select Course Options.
- From the drop-down menu, choose External Tool Providers.
- Select Add External Tool Provider.
- In the Add External Tool Provider modal window, enter the Tool Name.
- In the Consumer Key field, enter your Explain Everything Customer Key.
- In the Shared Secret field, enter your Explain Everything Shared Secret.
- In the Configuration URL/XML field, copy and paste the following URL:
