Explain Everything offers two modes of displaying its screen to external screens like monitors, projectors, TVs, or Airplay devices such as Apple TV. One will show exactly what you see on your iPad and the other will only show the content of your canvas.
External screen basics
By default, the external screen is set to Mirror. All the interface elements (toolbars, buttons, menus) will be visible on the external device.
If you do not want to show the interface on the external screen, you can use the 2nd screen setting. The whole screen of the iPad is sent over to the screen without the tools - just the canvas. On the iPad you still see the tools, but the external screen becomes a "second screen”.
If you select the 2nd screen mode, you'll also be able to set how the iPad screen will fit into the external screen. You can either make it the iPad screen fill the external screen by its Height or Width. The effect depends on the screen ratio of your external screen. Most commonly, Height causes black bars to appear on the sides of the screen, while Width causes the top and bottom of the image to be cropped.
