You can export and share your projects in the native Explain Everything file format called .explain. While sharing projects via Explain Drive is quicker and provides access control, you can use .explain project files in some specific scenarios.
When to export an .explain project file
- Share the project file through other apps.
- Host or store the project file outside Explain Everything or Explain Drive.
- Share only selected slides of the project.
- Create a backup of the project.

Export project as an .explain file
- While in the project, select the Share icon.
- Select Export.
- Select Project.
- Choose the name of the file you will export.
- Select the slides you'd like to include in the file.
- Select Export.
- Choose your desired export destination.
- While in the project, select the Share icon.
- Select Export.
- Select Project.
- Choose your desired export destination.
- Select Export.
Note: Currently, the Android version of Explain Everything only allows you to export the contents of all the slides you're working on.
- While in the project, select the Share icon.
- Select Export.
- Select Project.
- You will be asked to leave the project temporarily for the time of export – select Proceed to Export.
- The project will be saved in your default download folder.

Note: Before you export your project, make sure all elements are added properly to your canvas and display accurately.
