Available to: Explain Everything Whiteboard and Basics for iOS and iPadOS
As part of the Explain Everything integration with the Giphy online database, you can search for and add GIFs to your canvas.
GIF is a popular image format commonly used for short, looping videos with no sound. With Giphy, you can add GIF files right into your canvas, and turn your whiteboard into an animated clip.
Note: When using the feature for the first time, you will be informed that the Giphy integration is maintained outside of Explain Everything, and even though the safe search option is enabled, it may contain inappropriate content. You can choose to use the integration or disable it. If you choose to disable it, it will be removed from the Add Media menu along with other features that let you find and add media from external services and search engines, including Unsplash and 3D Objects. You can manage your External Media Search and turn the features on and off in the app’s Settings, through the Admin Configuration panel, or via MDM.
Add a GIF from Giphy to your canvas
- Select Add Media from the Toolbar.
- From the menu, choose Image/GIF from Web.
- Choose GIPHY.
- Search for the GIF you'd like to add to your canvas — you can choose one of the featured GIFs or use the search bar to find what you're looking for.
- Once found, select the GIF's thumbnail — it'll be added to your canvas.
Tip GIFs you add to canvas are set to loop and repeat the animation. To stop the loop select the GIF with the Hand Tool, select Show media controls, and disable the Loop control.
This feature is currently not available in the Android version of Explain Everything.
