In some cases, when you try to launch a new project, you might get the following error message: "Your browser is not currently supported. Please use the latest version of Chrome, Edge, Opera, Firefox, or Safari".
The message looks like this:
Sometimes it really might be related to the version of your browser. Please update it or try another one.
Supported browsers include Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Opera, Edge and most browsers based on Chromium.
Explain Everything will run reasonably well on any iMac or MacBook from 2011 and later, a modern Windows PC (2011 or later).
We found that there are problems on some obsolete iMacs from 2009 and 2010 (see the Apple list of vintage and obsolete products: https://support.apple.com/en-sg/HT201624).
Please note that legacy OS versions do not support the newest browsers — and will often display that the browser is "up to date" — which means that your computer is running the latest version of the browser that is supported on your OS, but that browser in itself might not be the "current newest version".
Our whiteboard needs a framework called WebGL, and if this framework has problems running on the combination of your OS, hardware and browser, then various issues might appear.
It's best to run an online test of the WebGL functions of your web browser: https://webglsamples.org/aquarium/aquarium.html
If this demo will not run for you, then unfortunately your hardware/OS is not supported. If you have another device, you might want to try our iOS or Android version (running on Chromebooks as well).
If you are able to run the above demo without problems, and still experience issues with Explain Everything then please contact our support (support@explaineverything.com) stating the make and model of your computer, the operating system installed and the version of your web browser. We will help you out!
