How to update Explain Everything

When using the Explain Everything app it is important to ensure you are using the newest available version. This will allow you to use the app properly, access all of its latest features, and avoid errors. You can either set up automatic app updates (and not have to worry about doing it yourself) or you can update manually. 

If you are using Explain Everything in a web browser you won't need to do this, as it will be automatically updated within the browser. If you do, however, experience difficulties using the web version, please see the steps below for web users.

Note You can check the current version of your app by selecting the three dots at the top right hand corner of the home screen of the app and selecting "About Application" (Android devices) or "About" (iOS devices). The version you are currently using will be visible next to the Explain Everything logo (e.g. 6.2.6S).    

Tip If you haven’t set up automatic app updates or you're experiencing problems with app functionality, it’s a good idea to set up a reminder to upgrade your Explain Everything app on a regular basis.

Update Explain Everything manually

  1. Go to the Explain Everything app in the App Store.
  2. Select update.
  3. Close and reopen your app after updating.

  3. Close and reopen your app after updating.

  2. Close and reopen your browser.

Set up automatic Explain Everything updates

We recommend automatic app updates, ensuring your Explain Everything is always up to date and running smoothly!

  1. Go to the "iTunes & App Store" app on your iPhone or iPad.
  2. Go to "Settings". 
  3. Under the "Automatic Downloads" section, look for "Updates" and toggle the switch to the ON position.
  4. Exit out of Settings as usual.
    1. Open the Google Play Store app.
    2. Go to "Settings".
    3. Tap Auto-update apps.
    4. Select an option: Over any network to update apps using either Wi-Fi or mobile data (data charges may apply here). Over Wi-Fi only to update apps only when connected to Wi-Fi.

Your web browser version of Explain Everything will update automatically each time a new version is released. If you do, however, experience any unexpected issues please see the steps above for refreshing your web browser version of Explain Everything.
