You can create a video that is based on the content you've created in your project. You can later share this video file to a destination of your choice.
Tip: Looking for other ways to export your project? See the available export options.
Note: The process of creating (rendering) a video file will take place on your device and may take some time if your video is long. If you're looking for a quick way to share a video that doesn't depend on your device, consider using a Web Video Link.
Export project as a video
- While in the project, select the Share icon.
- Select Export.
- Select Video.
- Customize your Export Video Options.
- Once you're happy with your settings select Export.
- Choose your desired export destination.
Export Video Options
You can customize the way your file looks once you export it.
Your settings will be saved for the future every time you change them.
Note: The proportions and orientation of the exported file depend on the Camera Frame Options.
Basic
Filename
Select to change the name of the exported file.
Aspect Ratio
Choose the proportions of the exported file. By default, these will be set according to your project aspect ratio. You can choose from the most common aspect ratios used in videos, the most popular movie aspect ratios, or use Custom to create the desired effect.
Once you select your aspect ratio, you can touch and hold the frame on the Preview to reposition it or use the handles to change its size. If you select Custom, the handles on the sides will appear to allow you to change the proportions of the frame.
Note: You can choose only one aspect ratio for your whole video. The area outside the frame will be cropped. The ratio and position you set will be the same for every slide, so if your video has many slides, make sure you're not cropping out anything important.
Advanced
File format
Select to choose the format in which the file will be exported.
You can choose from:
- MP4 – an international standard that uses compression and produces a lower file size. This format is recommended when sharing across platforms and systems.
- MOV – a high-quality, low-compression format developed by Apple.
Quality
This setting controls the quality of the exported file. Lower the quality to make the size of the video file smaller and reduce export time.
Note: If your video is long and you're planning to lower the quality to save time, please make sure to export a shorter recording first to make sure it meets your quality criteria.
Resolution
Select to change the resolution of your video. The available options are dependent on the orientation of your project and the Aspect Ratio setting in the Basic export settings. Higher resolutions will provide a better quality video. However, if your audience won't be viewing it on high resolution screens, they simply may not see the difference.
Tip: You can lower the resolution to reduce the size of the exported video file and the export time. Try exporting a shorter video first (a single short slide for example) to see if you're ok with the quality of the video.
Include slides without recordings
By default, your video will be composed of all the slides that you've recorded. If you select a slide that doesn't have a recording, you will not be able to export your video. This setting lets you include those slides and decide how long they will appear for in the exported video.
Include audio
If you'd like to export a video without sound, turn this setting to OFF.
Show audio objects in the exported video
When you add an audio file to your canvas, it will be visible in your recording as a waveform object. If you'd like to hide those objects in your exported video, you can turn this setting to OFF. You'll still be able to hear their audio in the video if you recorded it.
Reset video export settings
Select to bring back the Export Video Options to their defaults.
Note: The Aspect Ratio setting is dependent on the Camera Frame settings of your project. If you reset the video export settings, the Aspect Ratio will be brought back to the ratio of the Camera Frame.
- While in the project, select the Share icon.
- Select Export.
- Select Video.
- Choose your desired export destination.
- Select Export.
Note: Currently, the Android version of Explain Everything only allows you to export the contents of all the slides you're working on.
The web version of Explain Everything allows you only to share videos via Web Video Link option. Learn how to get a video file from a Web Video Link you created.
